President's Update 16.1.20

Hi all,

Welcome back to TRS for another year! Thanks for a great night of singing last night to well and truly blow away the cobwebs.

We welcomed what must be a TRS record, 4 new faces to the group last night - Rebecca, Pritinder, Paul and Brian. A big TRS welcome to you all. We hope you enjoyed your first sing with us and look forward to seeing you all next week.

We also welcomed a few members of Peppermint along for a run through of Fix You. This will be performed as a combined number at the upcoming Bushfire Relief Concert (more details below).

And of course, what can I say but Steve, we missed you!! It was wonderful to have you back with us last night.

Here are this weeks points to mention:

1. Bushfire Relief Concert 8th Feb 2019 - 7PM Christ Church Grammar School

Last week Neil put together a proposal which we have presented to Christ Church Grammar for the use of their chapel for this concert. This performance will be a combined concert with Peppermint, TRS and Iris, with all funds to be distributed between the Red Cross Bush Fire Appeal and WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue. After a meeting with the Principal yesterday, I am happy to advise that they have approved our proposal in full and we are now full steam ahead for this gig. Could you please rsvp on the website here if you have not done so already. I will be sending out flyers to you all by email today. Tickets will be available on Trybooking as of today, so if you could please encourage any friends and family to purchase tickets online it would be much appreciated. We wish to limit door sales on the night as the school does not want large amounts of cash on site.

If you could all please start brushing up on these pieces and we can take steps towards timing them at our next rehearsal to work out the proposed final set list.

2. Fees - Term fee invoices have been sent out this week. If you could organise payment by the due date that would be awesome - thanks if you have paid already.

3. Christmas Carols - thanks to all of you for making last years carol season such a success. We have made in excess of $2400.00 this year which is a great effort.
